Can I work on campus?
Holy Wood Acting Studio management is working to develop just a few opportunities for the Year Round Program beginning in September. Opportunities are unavailable during the summer sessions.
Can I audition for films, plays or commercials while attending the Studio?
During the school year, enrollees are expected to devote their full attention to their training and attendance at all Studio sessions is mandatory. Therefore, it is not in the aspiring actor’s best interests and, as such, against school policy for trainees to go to outside auditions while attending Holy Wood Acting Studio. Also, doing well in an audition and having the best chance to win the part requires practice and a keen sense of what is required. As part of your acting sessions at Holy Wood Acting Studio, mock auditions are held so that you will be in a comfort zone, of sorts, when you do graduate and go on to auditions as a highly trained, professional actor.
Do I need a car?
No. Actors who attend Holy Wood Acting Studio can easily access the campus via bus or taxi. However, they may find it easier if they have a car, although it is not absolutely necessary. Parking for enrollees is available on campus.
What kind of payment plans are in place?
Payment plans for enrollees are available. For more information please email karla@holwoodactingstudio.com
Do I need to audition to be accepted at the Studio?
To be accepted for the Extensive program we require a 2 minute monologue. To be accepted for the Intensive program we require an on-site interview for residents of Los Angeles and a phone interview for all others
Does the studio provide housing?
The Studio does not provide housing and there are no current plans to do so. Aspiring actors are required to make their own housing arrangements. However, it should be noted that there are many suitable apartment complexes in the neighborhood surrounding the Studio and that some may be within walking distance. It will be the actor’s decision to choose the housing that fits him or her best knowing that the Studio will not be responsible for anything with respect to this matter. We usually provide the name of one or two realtors to help you find accommodation for you with or without roommates that you may contact at Holy Wood Acting Studio.
What are the security arrangements at the school?
The entrance gate to the school is manned by a trained security guard at all times and no one is admitted without providing proper identification.
